Golf Day Networking 2017
by

Tuesday 23rd May 2017 saw the inaugural Business Doctors (Crawley and Redhill) Golf Day at Horsham Golf and Fitness. Blessed with some wonderful weather the day was a great success, with plenty of new contacts made amongst the attendees, some great tips from the PGA pros in the clinics and an afternoon competition that rivalled the Ryder Cup for excitement and team spirit!

The day started with the obligatory bacon roll washed down with copious amounts of coffee! With a 50:50 split between those who had played golf before and those who were experiencing it for the first time, we split into two groups for the golf clinics with the PGA pros. Both groups had a session on the range with Lee Wood and one on the putting green with Mike Yorke, owner and founder of MY Golf Academy.

Following a quick break to refuel and stock up on sun cream it was off to the wonderful nine-hole, Par-3 Firs course for a Texas Scramble competition.

Teams were mixed with new and experienced golfers and the course provided challenges for the old hands whilst giving the newcomers an enjoyable introduction to the game.

With much hollering, whooping and fist pumping in evidence, the competitive juices were clearly flowing! The final result couldn’t have been closer, with just one shot separating all four teams! After a countback on the last 6 holes to separate the top two, the winning team was Chris Sowerby (Business Doctors), Sharon Vibert (Ten2Two), Red Talidi (Office Profile) and Lucy Sayers (Sussex Living), pictured below.

Back to the 19th hole (or 10th in this case) for lunch and prizegiving and more networking. Aswell as the winning team, there were also prizes for nearest the pin, won by Steve Ody (Utility Warehouse) and most enthusiastic golfer (judged by Mike Yorke over the course of the day), which was won by Red Talidi (Office Profile). There were also prizes on offer for Beat the Pro, but Mike kept his reputation by not being beaten once!

Many of the winners have already been back to the Firs Course to use their prize vouchers with friends and family and if you would like to try this wonderful facility then visit http://www.horshamgolfandfitness.co.uk/firs.php

A special thank you to Mike Yorke and his team at Horsham for providing first-class facilities, coaching and catering on the day, and donating vouchers and lessons for the prize table.
