Business Doctors Take To The Water
by

Business Doctors NORTH WEST yet again pulled together for more fun and frolics and also to support The Rotary Club of Saughall in their first ever Dragon Boat Race.

The race was held at Manley Mere and the Business Doctors NW sponsored a boat with the idea of all the North West team joining in, 16 crew members and a drummer were needed.

Pamela Drew (Business Doctors Chester Wrexham and Flintshire) organised the crew and Gary Lowes (Business Doctors North Cheshire) organised the bare legs whilst Phil Hendy (Business Doctors Wirral) did a great job with the camera.

The crew was made up from Business Doctors’ clients and networking contacts. Jayne from R & R safety systems (Pamela’s first ever Growth Accelerator client) brought the sandwiches whilst Lisa and Louise from Brighter Choices provided with the fruit picnic. Debbie Stokes from NW & Cheshire Chamber brought some strong men to help with the rowing and Wayne from Lexus was happy to help set the pace and buddy up with Pamela on the water.

The weather forecast wasn’t the best for the day but the rain managed to stay off.  With winds of 29mph gusting 45mph for any hardy sailors reading this you can imagine the fun they had.

The team collated together at the agreed time of 9.30am where registration took place then Pam rallied her crew to the car park where go fast juice was shared out (Prosecco and beer) along with breakfast muffins and cakes, setting the standards for the day for the Business Doctors Crew.

Lots of fun was had and with paddles at the ready we came a respectable 6th out of 11. The Business Doctor crew all managed to stay on the boat, but one poor drummer did go swimming!

Claire House Hospice and Hospice of The Good Shepherd, the sponsored charities both received £3,000 each.

Pamela and the Rotary club of Saughall would like to thank all the Business Doctors North West Team for supporting and making this day lots of fun and very successful (Kevin Cook Cheshire, Terry Houghton Merseyside, Gary Lowes North Cheshire, Phil Hendy Wirral, Mark Greenhalgh South cheshire, Mike Holmes South Merseyside, and Tim Cornes Cheshire East & High Peaks.

Who knows next year maybe each Business Doctor in the NW could organise a boat, and the year after have their own Business Doctors Race!
