We’ve worked with 563 businesses across Yorkshire since the start of 2014
by

If you only include working days, that’s four businesses per day that have received support from Business Doctors Yorkshire so far in 2014.

How does this breakdown?  How have we managed to help so many businesses in such a short time?

In essence, this success is a result of sleeves-up hard graft.  Our team have been working all over Yorkshire; in job centres, business hubs, factory shop floors and company boardrooms, looking to support good ideas and help businesses grow.

Our partnership with the West Yorkshire Enterprise Agency through their NEA/ MyMentor programme has seen us engaging with the next generation of business owners.  Sometimes difficult, but always inspirational, we have helped people looking to find and stay in work realise their ambition of starting their own business.

Partnerships with Growth Accelerator, Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and Business Growth Calderdale have meant we are able to provide partially funded support to new and growing businesses throughout the region, developing new strategies, and subsequently planning and implementing change to see their vision of the future realised.

The ongoing ERDF funded Business Brains programme, run in partnership with the University of Bradford’s sustainable enterprise hub, the re:centre, has seen us providing workshops and bespoke 1-2-1 support to b2b businesses across Yorkshire.

Of the 563 businesses we have engaged with so far this year all 563 have ambition.  We have worked with everyone from new start-up businesses through to business trading for the last 140 years, in each case we see a desire to change, improve and grow.

On this evidence there could certainly be a case for suggesting the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Yorkshire.  All 563 business owners proactively sought advice and support to induce a step-change and growth in their businesses and in their lives.  If the evidence of our first 6 months of 2014 is anything to go by then a bright future awaits the business community across the region.
